We are a elementary school hot lunch provider in Windsor, Essex and Kent County and a Grocery Box Delivery Company. We offer an organized healthy meal program and grocery box pick up/delivery service that is reliable and dependable.

WELCOME BACK!

We are excited for the opportunity to provide your children with delicious, hot lunches again for the 2021/22 school year!

Currently, we are in the process of receiving teacher information from schools. Once your school's teacher list is entered, your school will be opened for ordering.

Pointe Aux Roches is our home town. We do not allow anyone but employees into our facility and your children are extremely important to us! We also have mandated all HF employees to be vaccinated.

PRICE OF MEALS

Food costs are gone crazy so this year we are trying something different. On some items to make them more economical we have offered them "a la carte", so prices range from $4.75 to $7.50 depending on what you choose. There are now more "options" when choosing a meal. You can "upsize", "add fries", "add vegetables", change your meal to Gluten-Free, Organic, Vegetarian or Halal. We also added options such as "no sour cream", "no tomatoes" and so on for the children that don't like certain items on their meals. As always, we are open to suggestions or adding additional options. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us.

CREDITS

Credits are now under the parent or email of the account. This way if your child was in grade 8 or changed schools the credits remain with you as the parent. It makes it easier for you since it becomes a family credit not a single child's credit.

REGISTERING YOUR CHILD ONLINE

Once you register your child online you will be able to see credits you have remaining in your account. Please use the same email for the account as last year since it is based on your email.

WHY DOES YOUR WEBSITE ASK FOR CREDIT CARD WITH ZERO BALANCE?

Our data base was not built for the number of credits we have had through COVID. If you have a zero balance after placing your order and it asks for a credit card, simply click on the box and change payment method to etransfer. It will then confirm your order.

There are no late fees, we understand what everyone is going through. As long as you order 5 days in advance you will be able to get lunch for your child the following week.

WHAT IF THE SCHOOL IS FORCED TO CLOSE DUE TO COVID?

If a school closes due to COVID we will refund your original credit card or apply a credit to your account. If this happens, we will email you personally to ask you what option you prefer.

COVID UPDATE AND PROCEDURES

Harvest Fresh is owned and operated locally. No franchise fees or money leaving the Windsor/Essex/Kent area - we are TRULY LOCAL. Because of this, we can support local community professionals, agencies and charities in this trying time who need our support. Food items that we could not use during the summer were donated to local food banks.

Parents have asked about credits which are still on the system or have been refunded upon request. The credits are good for the whole 2021/22 school year. Thank you for supporting us! We greatly appreciate the emails and calls from parents eagerly awaiting our return.

New procedures will be in play for the school year and we will be working with the schools, the boards and health department to make sure we can provide a hot meal to your child safely. 

We will prioritize Health and Safety

The measures outlined below are more stringent to those that we have always followed in accordance to Windsor/Essex Health Unit food safety.

  • Staff will be properly screened upon entering the facility in accordance the Ministry of Health guidelines. We are not open to the public. No one is allowed to enter our facility but our employees.
  • We require & provide face coverings for all employees, along with any other PPE they will need at schools.
  • Hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes will be easily accessible for our employees and healthy-habits reminders are posted in our facility.
  • We have added additional cleaning and sanitizing procedures to our already rigorous food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Utensils are now individually sealed and all lunches are labelled with your child's name
  • All employees are double vaccinated

FAQ

How do I get Harvest Fresh at my school?

Call or email us. Ultimately, the decision lies with your Parent Council and the Principal at your school. We would be happy to offer a presentation at your next PAC meeting to explain how the process works and answer any questions you might have.

Can Harvest Fresh accommodate children with dietary restrictions?

We sure can. We offer vegetarian, gluten-free, organic, Halal and lactose-free meals that can meet your child's allergy needs. Please contact us and we can set up a meal plan for your child.

You say you only use local suppliers and fresh produce, can you explain further?

Harvest Fresh is locally owned and we believe in supporting the community we live in so all of our suppliers are local companies.

Can I get a refund if my child misses a lunch?

Harvest Fresh requires 24 hr notice to cancel a meal and provide you with a credit for a future meal, this includes COVID dismissal.  If a credit cannot be used and a refund issued, we deduct the 5% donation that we have already provided to your school and the cost of any postage, handling or bank charges (etransfer). Refunds will be issued if you school closes down for more than 3 weeks due to COVID this school year (2021/22) and we will cancel all meals for that particular school. 

How do I cancel a meal?

If you would like to cancel a meal with more than 7 days notice log onto your account and go to My Orders. Find the desired meal listed under My Upcoming Meals and click the yellow X. A credit will automatically be credited to your account.

If you would like to cancel a meal with more than 24 hours and less than 7 days, please email customerservice@harvestfresh.ca

No credits will be issued for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.

What payment options do you offer?

Harvest Fresh offers Online Ordering which is available to all schools using Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit or E-transfers. 

E-Transfer Instructions

Be sure to use YOUR NAME as the "Recipient Name" when adding us as a Payee in the E-transfer section of your bank account. This makes it possible for us to find and process your order quickly and efficiently when we receive your email.

If you have already added us a Payee with a different name please delete this recipient and re-add us with YOUR NAME.

When adding us as a Payee you will also need to create a Security Question and Answer. The secret question should be: "Who is the best hot lunch provider?

What if my child is sick on their Harvest Fresh lunch day?

We are parents here at Harvest Fresh and understand children can get sick on very short notice. As previously mentioned we only issue credits with 24 hrs notice. In those cases we suggest that you arrange to have your child's lunch picked up from the school or donated to another student. We deliver all lunches to the school and leave them there.

What happens if my child has issues with their lunch at school?

Our delivery staff travel with spare meals just in case.  It is very important that our Lunch lady Delivery person KNOWS if there are any delivery issues or problems with their lunch.  Look for our staff - usually set up with a table. Or ask the office to help find us.  We never want your child to go hungry.

What happens to my child's lunch if they are not at school?

We call these UNCOLLECTED LUNCHES.  An uncollected lunch is not the same as cancelled lunch and is NOT credited. Each school has different policies for these meals.  Some schools will hold them in the fridge if they can while others cannot keep the meals due to their Board regulations and will donate them to other children.

A parent can also arrange with the school to have the meal picked up.  Any remaining meals are donated to other children and or families in need. 

What happens to my child’s lunch on a Bus Cancellation Day?

If we are able to deliver lunches, no credits will be issued. Each school has different policies for absent children meals. Some schools will hold them in the fridge if they can while others cannot keep the meals due to their Board regulations and will donate them to other children.

A parent can also arrange with the school to have the meal picked up. Any remaining meals are donated to other children and/or families in need.

What happens in the event of inclement weather?

In the event of a bus cancellation due to a Snow or Fog Day but the schools are still open we will make every effort to deliver lunches to the schools. If the weather puts our staff at risk we will cancel lunches and provide families with a credit or arrange with the school a rescheduled date.

We will post our status on our website and Facebook by 7AM on a Fog or Snow Day to let parents know if we will be delivering or not. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram to be updated on our status. To be safe, please pack your child with snacks on bus cancellation days.

Can I place an order after the due date?

Yes, you can always place a late online order, the meals must be placed 5 days in advance.

How can I get a copy of the menu?

Sign into your Harvest Fresh account and go to your Dashboard. Click the Printable Menu icon under the My Students section at the top of the page.

Why Harvest Fresh Grocery Boxes?

Harvest Fresh has taken all precautions in the handling of your grocery items. The items are supplied by a HAACP approved facility. The food items provided have not been exposed to the retail/grocery  store environment. 

Our grocery items come straight from manufacturer to you through us. We offer high end restaurant quality items that can be enjoyed at home.

My girls are loving the meals!! They were very excited to be able to pick their meals out themselves!! I think the choices are great!! I love having the break from packing 4 different lunches once a week, I get so tired of having to try and figure out what to send the kids!! Its definitely a great program!!

Our daughter's favourite meal is Chicken Caesar in a Pita. As a parent, I love the fact that she can have a hot, nutritious lunch at school that is healthy. It's a great way to break away from the regular boring 'sandwich' lunches and I love only having to pack a snack on Wednesday evenings!

I have been ordering from you for 4+ years and have come to love the quality of food you provide.
